When does the email edition launch?
Shortly — and we won't fake a date or collect email addresses before we can deliver the thing we promised. Until the email edition opens, the full-text RSS feed carries everything Codex Insider publishes the moment it goes live: same coverage, same sourcing, zero wait. When signup exists, the feed and the wire will say so first.
What will the email cover?
One email a week rounding up every OpenAI Codex change that matters: CLI releases, usage-limit and pricing changes, model drops, and incidents. Each item gets a plain-English summary and a link to its primary source, and the whole thing follows the same editorial policy as the site — human-reviewed, sourced, with no hot takes and no filler.
Near-daily CLI releases, annotated — what actually changed and whether it affects how you work. More →
Usage-limit and pricing changes, tracked against the living limits reference. More →
Model drops, defaults, and deprecations the week they land. More →
Outages, regressions, and undocumented changes, with the issue trail linked. More →
Is one email a week enough to keep up?
Yes, because most days' changes are small. OpenAI shipped 903 Codex CLI releases between April 2025 and July 9, 2026 — a near-daily cadence — and 2026 has brought four model generations: GPT-5.3-Codex on February 5, GPT-5.4 on March 5, GPT-5.5 on April 23, and GPT-5.6 on July 9. A weekly digest separates the changes that affect how you work from the noise, and anything urgent hits the wire and the feed the day it happens.
